Who we are.

We’re Not Clinicians... We’re Humans Who’ve Been There.

At YOUR RECOVERY, every person you meet has lived experience with addiction, mental-health challenges, or both.

We know what it’s like to fight for change, and how hard it can be to ask for help. That’s why we’ve built a service grounded in empathy, evidence, and real understanding.

Recovery isn’t one-size-fits-all. You don’t need to be abstinent to work with us… you don’t even need to want that.

Some people come to gain control. Some want structure. Some just want to feel steady again. Whatever your goals look like, we meet you there.

That’s what Recover You, Your Way means. Support without judgment, guidance without pressure, and space to grow at your own pace.

Meet the Founder Paris Le Maistre

Peer Mentor, Podcast Host & Addiction Recovery Advocate

A woman with light skin, pink hair, and visible acne on her face, looking at her reflection in a mirror and taking a selfie with her phone. She is wearing a striped top.

Paris Le Maistre spent nearly two decades caught in addiction.

17 years with alcohol and 10 years with methamphetamine.
For four of those years, she worked as an escort, living a double life across Victoria and Western Australia, one that looked chaotic from the outside, and inside, she was slowly disappearing.

Diagnosed with Complex PTSD and Borderline Personality Disorder, Paris learned early how easy it is to lose yourself in survival. Recovery didn’t happen overnight. In fact, she says she was a slow learner. She relapsed many times before she realised that lasting change wasn’t about willpower, it was about shifting her mindset.

“I had to stop living as the victim of my story and start being the author.”

That shift… from helplessness to ownership, changed everything. Paris recognised she was the creator of her life, not the product of it. That revelation came from a small but profound moment: reading “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!” by Dr Seuss, a book gifted to her while she was in a psych ward in 2019 for drug-induced psychosis.

Today, Paris lives in a state of honest recovery. She still drinks occasionally, but her relationship with alcohol is entirely different; intentional, mindful, and free from the cycle of dependence. She’s sober from all other substances, including nicotine and caffeine, and continues to use the same tools she now teaches others.

Through her journey, Paris saw how Australia’s mental-health and addiction systems often leave people stuck with long wait times, high costs, and services that separate issues instead of addressing the whole person. So she created Your Recovery: a peer-led service built on honesty, practicality, and lived experience.

To support others with both lived experience and professional education, Paris went on to gain qualifications in Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) and Mental Health, blending evidence-based approaches with genuine understanding.
